Industrial vacuum cleaning is a specialized cleaning process that is designed to remove large volumes of dry or wet materials, dust, debris, and other unwanted substances from industrial environments. The process involves using powerful vacuum systems that are specifically designed for heavy-duty use. These vacuum systems are equipped with advanced filtration systems, large capacity tanks, and powerful motors that enable them to efficiently and effectively remove dirt and debris from industrial settings such as factories, mines, oil rigs, and construction sites. Industrial vacuum cleaning is an essential process for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, improving productivity, and complying with health and safety regulations.

Water jetting is a cleaning process that uses high-pressure water jets to remove dirt, debris, and other unwanted materials from surfaces. The water is pressurized and accelerated through a small opening, creating a powerful stream that can effectively blast away contaminants. Water jetting can be used in various applications such as cleaning surfaces, cutting materials, and surface preparation. The process is environmentally friendly and does not necessarily require the use of chemicals or abrasive materials, making it a safe and efficient cleaning method.

Water jetting is a versatile cleaning technique that can be used on a wide range of surfaces, including concrete, metal, and wood. The pressure of the water can be adjusted to suit the specific cleaning needs, with lower pressures used for lighter cleaning tasks and higher pressures for tougher jobs. Water jetting can also reach tight spaces and hard-to-reach areas, making it ideal for cleaning complex machinery and equipment. The benefits of water jetting include a reduction in cleaning time and costs, improved surface quality, and a more sustainable cleaning process.

SJA offers a comprehensive range of tank cleaning services that are designed to meet the specific needs of our clients. We understand the challenges that come with tank cleaning and have developed a range of services to ensure that our clients have access to a one-stop-shop solution for all their tank cleaning needs.

One of our key objectives is to minimize the need for human entry into tanks during the cleaning process. We achieve this through our advanced cleaning methods which include chemical cleaning, 2-D and 3-D rotational nozzles, high-pressure water jetting, and vacuum cleaning combinations. Our chemical cleaning methods ensure that harmful products are neutralized before the cleaning process begins, while our 2-D and 3-D rotational nozzles ensure that the cleaning process is thorough and efficient. Our high-pressure water jetting and vacuum cleaning combinations further ensure that tanks are cleaned to the highest possible standards.

At SJA, we understand that tank cleaning is a critical process, and as such, we have developed a range of services that are tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients. With our extensive experience and expertise, we are confident that we can provide our clients with a comprehensive and reliable service that meets their unique needs

“Chemical Cleaning is Quality not Quantity”

Chemical cleaning is the process of removing, dissolving and loosening of contaminant material eg.: fouling, scale or hard deposits from process equipment or piping with a chemical solution utilizing various chemical processes.

Pre-commissioning/commissioning activities – piping and vessels may contain a variety of debris, scale, sand, dirt, oxides, oil and temporary protective coatings that must be removed before commissioning including the repairing of surface conditions after fabrication eg.: pickle and passivation process.

Smet Jet Africa chemical department leadership can boast with a collective 165 years’ experience in the industrial cleaning field with the support of a combined 156 years ‘of skilled hands-on dedicated team members.

Smet Jet has performed chemical cleaning of boilers, heat exchangers, coolers, tanks, filters and piping systems in Europe and South Africa, our client base includes petrol chemical industries (Sasol) and power generating industries (Eskom).

Automatic-Tube-Cleaning-System-Balls (002)_edited.jpg

The Automatic Tube Cleaning System (ATCS) by Innovas Technologies keeps heat exchanger tubes clean without intervention. Cleaning balls rub against tubes and trap debris at the outlet for the next cycle, requiring minimal downtime and less than 20 man-hours for installation. The Helios ATCS is cost-effective, energy-saving, and eliminates the need for harmful chemicals, which can be expensive and inefficient, and require process shutdowns. Our system prevents the build-up of mud, scale, and biological fouling, which degrade heat exchanger performance, improving energy efficiency by up to 25%. In addition, it extends equipment life, providing a great return on investment. Our ATCS often qualifies for energy efficiency rebates, making it an excellent value. The system offers continuous heat transfer at maximum efficiency, requires no process shutdown, no chemical handling or disposal, and is fully automatic for effortless maintenance.

Cold cutting using high pressure water jetting is a non-destructive cutting method that uses a stream of water at high velocity and pressure to cut through different materials. The technique is particularly useful for cutting through metals, concrete, and other hard surfaces, without producing heat or sparks. This makes it a safer alternative to traditional cutting methods like plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting, which can create hazardous fumes and sparks that pose a risk of fire or explosion. High pressure water jetting is also more precise than other cutting methods, allowing for intricate cuts and shapes to be made. Additionally, the technique produces less waste and is more environmentally friendly, making it a popular choice for industries that prioritize sustainability.

crash-course-hydrodemolition (002).jpg

Hydro-demolition is an essential process for many construction and renovation projects, but it can also be a hazardous one. Traditional methods of demolition, such as manual breaking or explosives, can create clouds of dust and produce deafening noise levels that are harmful to both workers and the environment. In contrast, water jetting provides a safe, efficient, and eco-friendly method of concrete removal. The Aquajet cutter utilizes a high-pressure water jet that can cut through even the toughest concrete without producing harmful dust or noise. The water jet is versatile and precise, capable of cutting at any angle or shape required, and providing accurate and controlled cutting to minimize the risk of damage to surrounding structures or surfaces. Overall, the Aquajet cutter offers a safer, cleaner, and more efficient way of hydro-demolition, making it an ideal choice for many projects.

Ultrasonic photo 2021.jpg

Ultrasound is used for removing problem contamination from all forms of hard surfaces, such as metals, plastics and ceramics. its unique properties can be harnessed to clean items of all shapes, sizes and technical complexity by penetrating holes and cavities that are impossible to reach using ordinary cleaning methods.

The Principle of the ultrasonic cleaning process is as follows. Piezo electric transducers are are attached to immersion plates which are attached/fixed to the cleaning tank. They generate ultrasound  waves that vibrate the cleaning fluid at very high velocity, creating a process called cavitation. Millions of tiny bubbles implode within the solution and penetrate into every orifice of the item being cleaned, removing dirt and grime within seconds.
